NDC grassroots urged to acquire vocational skills as government cannot provide jobs for all
The Chief Executive Officer of GIB Fund Consult, Mr. Isaac D. Gracious, has urged NDC grassroots members and other young people to acquire vocational and entrepreneurial skills, saying the government alone cannot provide employment for every youth in the country.
Mr. Isaac D. Gracious, Chief Executive Officer of GIB Fund Consult, says skills training and entrepreneurship remain key solutions to tackling youth unemployment in Ghana.
Speaking to TV XYZ News reporter Alex Donkoh during a three-day free skills training programme for NDC grassroots members at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality, he encouraged participants to learn practical trades that can help them become self-employed and financially independent.
He explained that GIB Fund Consult is committed to equipping young people with employable skills to reduce unemployment and improve their livelihoods, noting that governments cannot provide jobs for all graduates and job seekers.
Participants received training in cake making, sugar craft, pizza preparation, cookie baking, spring rolls and samosa production, yoghurt making, local beverage production, gari processing, and e-banking services.
Mr. Gracious said his vision is to empower NDC grassroots members with practical skills that will enable them to support themselves, their families, and contribute to national development.
Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Mr. Isaac D. Gracious and GIB Fund Consult for providing the free training programme.
They said the skills acquired would enable them to establish their own businesses, create employment for themselves, and improve their living conditions.
The beneficiaries also pledged to make good use of the knowledge gained and help promote the work of GIB Fund Consult.
Participants attended the training from Kasoa, Winneba, Tema, Gomoa East, Apam, and several other constituencies.
