An aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, says his decision to contest the regional chairmanship race is motivated by his commitment to helping Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secure victory in the 2029 presidential election.
Speaking to party delegates during the fourth day of his campaign tour in the Ejisu Constituency, COKA stressed the need for a stronger party structure in the Ashanti Region to boost the NPP’s chances in the next general election.
“My mission is to ensure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes President in 2029,” he told delegates.
He pledged that, if elected, his administration would prioritise strengthening the party at the grassroots, promoting unity among members, and mobilising supporters to secure a decisive victory for the NPP.
COKA urged delegates in the Ejisu Constituency to vote for him in the upcoming regional executive elections slated for August 15, 2026, reminding them that he is number one on the ballot paper.
The Ashanti Region, considered a key electoral base for the NPP, is expected to play a crucial role in the party’s efforts to return to power in the 2028 general election.
