In a recent interview on Kumasi-based Hello FM, Kuami Eugene, also known as Eugene Kwame Marfo, has clarified his recent comments about women needing to have a “tough skin” to date him. The “Wish Me Well” hitmaker explained that he meant women who date him should be prepared to receive their fair share of negative comments and attacks, given his popularity in Ghana’s music industry.

“I can’t assure you that people won’t say bad things about me or I won’t be attacked,” Kuami Eugene said. “That’s why I said if you are my partner, get ready to receive your fair share of it and that’s what I meant by you should have a tough skin.”

He also clarified that his statement did not mean that he had many women chasing after him. “That’s not it because I have respect for women and I have respect for our people and I respect everybody that I come across,” he added.

Kuami Eugene’s comments had caused some controversy online, with some people interpreting them as disrespectful to women. However, the singer has now clarified his intentions and apologized for any misunderstanding.
