Former Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gordon Asubonteng, has lamented the regrettable actions of individuals believed to be NDC affiliates, who have been vandalizing public properties under the pretext of celebrating their party’s victory in the recent general elections.

Hon. Gordon Asubonteng, who served as the Dormaa Central MCE under President John Dramani Mahama from 2013 to 2017, noted that President Mahama has publicly denounced the recent indiscipline exhibited by certain youths. These individuals have stormed party offices and other government institutions to express their dissatisfaction over the perceived neglect of certain party members in ministerial appointments, thereby causing damage to public institutions in pursuit of employment opportunities.

According to the former MCE, the youth and supporters of the NDC must exhibit restraint in their interactions with the president regarding his appointments and adhere to the nation’s laws to foster development and promote sound governance.

Hon. Gordon Asubonteng urged all nine Dormaa Central MCE nominees to exercise political tolerance in fostering unity among themselves following the vetting process and subsequent appointments to be made by the President. He also encouraged assembly members to peacefully approve any nominations put forth by the President, emphasizing that any party member chosen as MCE should be humble and respectful of others’ views to advance the development of the Dormaa Central Constituency.
