I will expedite the reconstruction of the dilapidated Asikasu No.1 R/C KG block six months after I am re-elected to office -Dormaa Central MP
Honorable Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, has pledged to rebuild the deteriorating Asikasu NO1 R/C KG block within six months, contingent upon his re-election in the upcoming elections.
He articulated this commitment at the premises of the Asikasu NO.1 R/C KG and Primary School during the 40th Anniversary and fundraising ceremony, which aimed to support the construction of the KG block to enhance the quality of education.
He acknowledged the limited time before the elections and thus refrained from promising immediate construction. However, he assured that the project would commence immediately after he is reaffirmed as the Member of Parliament and would be completed within 6-9months.
The Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Education, Rev. Kingsley Dwamena Asante, reflecting on the program’s theme “Promoting Peace Through Quality Education,” emphasized that peace is not solely the absence of violence. He argued that children deprived of adequate school facilities are also in pursuit of peace. Therefore, it is imperative to ensure the provision of superior facilities for schoolchildren to enhance teaching and learning.
He thus implored all stakeholders to contribute to the construction of the school, as the government cannot accomplish this task alone.
The Headmistress of Asikasu NO1 R C KG and Primary School, Madam Appiah Regina, stated that the program was designed to solicit funds for the reconstruction of the deteriorating KG block to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
She mentioned that the school is deficient in numerous equipment and facilities, which hinders effective education, and thus appealed to philanthropists and other stakeholders for their support.
