Ghanaian actor Agya Koo recently shared how he encouraged his friend Akrobeto to come back to Ghana and pursue his passion for acting, a move that transformed Akrobeto’s life and career.
In an interview on Lawson Radio, Agya Koo spoke about his close friendship with Akrobeto, a fellow actor in the Ghanaian entertainment industry. He reminisced about their early days performing together in the Keysoap Concert Party era, where they grew a strong bond. “We were like brothers,” Agya Koo said. “We shared everything, even clothes, and after each performance, we’d walk home together, dreaming about the future.”
While Agya Koo stayed in Ghana, building a career in the Kumawood film industry, Akrobeto moved to Belgium in search of better opportunities. Agya Koo worked hard, eventually buying his own house and cars, but he always kept in touch with Akrobeto. Then, during a performance in Holland, Agya Koo invited Akrobeto to join him on stage. This reunion reminded Akrobeto of his passion for acting.
“I told him, ‘Come back to Ghana. The industry needs you, and you’ll make a real impact here,’” Agya Koo shared. When Akrobeto returned to Ghana, they worked on a successful film together, marking a turning point in Akrobeto’s career. Through this success, Akrobeto was able to buy a house and car, changing his life.
Agya Koo expressed his pride in seeing his friend thrive, knowing he played a part in Akrobeto’s journey back to success in Ghanaian cinema.
