Government has maintained the producer price of cocoa for the 2026 Light Crop Season despite falling prices on the international market.
According to the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), cocoa purchases for the season will begin on June 18, 2026. Farmers will continue to receive GH¢1,241.76 per 30kg load and GH¢2,587.00 per 64kg bag.
COCOBOD said the decision was taken to protect the incomes and livelihoods of cocoa farmers.
“By maintaining the current producer price, government aims to provide stability and confidence to farmers ahead of the new light crop season,” the statement said.
The producer price for a tonne of cocoa remains GH¢41,392.00.
