Government should partner musicians to guide the youth – Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale has called on the government to involve leading Ghanaian musicians in national programmes aimed at shaping and inspiring the youth.

Speaking in an interview on Ekosiisen on Asempa tv , the dancehall artiste said influential musicians such as Sarkodie and Stonebwoy have a strong connection with young people and can play an important role in guiding them towards positive behaviour.

According to Shatta Wale, many Ghanaian youths look up to musicians as role models, making it important for the government to collaborate with them on initiatives that promote discipline, entrepreneurship and patriotism.

He noted that artistes already command the attention of millions of young Ghanaians through their music and social media platforms, which places them in a unique position to influence attitudes and inspire change.

The musician further stressed that engaging the creative arts industry in national development efforts could help address some of the challenges facing the youth, including unemployment and lack of direction.

Shatta Wale therefore encouraged authorities to intentionally position artistes like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and others as ambassadors for youth empowerment programmes across the country.
