Joseph Paintsil, the 25-year-old Ghanaian forward, has continued his impressive run of form in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League by scoring yet again for KRC Genk. Paintsil scored the equalizer for Genk in their 1-1 draw against Cercle Brugge KSV on Friday night, extending his tally to 12 goals this season.

Cercle Brugge KSV took the lead in the matchday 30 fixture through Ayase Ueda, a Japanese international forward, who scored in a one-on-one situation five minutes before half time. However, Paintsil levelled the match nine minutes into the second half with a brilliant goal, after receiving a precise pass from Mbwana Samatta, the Tanzanian captain.

Despite the draw, Genk remains at the top of the league standings, having opened up a six-point gap between themselves and Royale Union SG, who are currently in second place.

Abu Francis, the young Ghanaian midfielder, played for 86 minutes for Cercle before being replaced by Charles Vanhoutte, a Belgian midfielder.

Paintsil has been outstanding this season, having scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 26 appearances in the Belgian top-tier. He is only four goals behind the current leading top scorer.
