The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.

In a statement, GES said it had become aware of a disturbing video circulating on social media that allegedly shows an inappropriate interaction between a teacher and a student of the school.

The Service explained that immediate administrative action was taken, and investigations have been launched to establish the facts surrounding the incident.

According to GES, the interdiction is a precautionary measure in line with its regulations, allowing due process to take place while the matter is thoroughly examined.

It strongly condemned any form of inappropriate relationship between teachers and students, describing such behaviour as a serious violation of professional ethics. GES reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on sexual misconduct in schools.

The Service further assured the public of its commitment to protecting students and maintaining discipline within the education sector, adding that any staff member found culpable after investigations will face the appropriate disciplinary and legal action.

Authorities at Bole Senior High School are expected to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation, with GES promising to provide further updates as the process continues.
