Former President John Dramani Mahama is making promises to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primary on May 13, 2023. As he runs for the NDC flagbearership, Mr. Mahama has assured party branch executives of his support and finance for the party’s activities. He has also vowed to actively prepare grounds for a successful 2024 campaign.
Campaign Tour in Bono Region
During his campaign tour of the Bono Region, Mr. Mahama charged constituency and regional executives with a commitment to run an effective branch-level campaign. He also urged them to make campaign materials and logistics available to the branches.
The campaign tour took him to several constituencies, including Dormaa West, Dormaa Central, Dormaa East, Sunyani West, and Sunyani East, where he met with branch and constituency executives, chiefs, and party supporters. On his first day, he visited Wenchi, Tain, Banda, Jaman North and South, Berekum West and Berekum East.
Appeal for Massive Votes in Presidential Primary
In his address to the delegates, Mr. Mahama thanked the party and its executives for their support and endorsement. He urged them to convert that support into massive votes for him in the presidential primary on May 13, 2023. The party’s internal elections will be held in constituencies across the country to select the NDC presidential and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 general election.
