‎Ghanaian journalist Alice Aryeetey, Managing News Editor for EIB Network’s English Cluster (GHOne TV and Starr FM), has been named one of ten global journalists selected for the prestigious 2025 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) Media Fellowship.

‎The ICFP Media Fellowship, coordinated by the Family Planning News Network (FPNN), recognizes journalists dedicated to accurate and human-centered reporting on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). This year’s fellows represent a diverse group from Ghana, India, Venezuela, Kenya, Ukraine, the Philippines, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, and the United States.

‎As part of the fellowship, Alice will travel to Bogotá, Colombia, to participate in the 2025 ICFP — the world’s largest scientific and advocacy gathering focused on family planning and reproductive health. The conference brings together policymakers, advocates, researchers, and journalists to share insights and drive progress toward global health equity.

‎Throughout the week-long event, Alice will produce impactful stories from Bogotá, shedding light on critical issues such as women’s health, gender justice, and youth empowerment — areas that have defined her more than 13-year career in journalism.

‎ “Family planning and reproductive health remain central to achieving equity and inclusion, especially for women and girls with disabilities. I look forward to amplifying these voices on the world stage,” she said.

‎Alice Aryeetey’s work consistently champions inclusiveness, development, and the wellbeing of women and girls, particularly those living with disabilities. Her outstanding contributions to journalism have earned her multiple honors, including the GJA Awards for Best TV News Reporter and Best SDGs Reporter (2019), as well as Best Journalist in Disability Reporting (2015). She was also named Ghana’s Most Promising Young Journalist (2018) and shortlisted for the Thomson Foundation/UK Foreign Press Association Young Journalist Award that same year.

‎A Mandela Washington Fellow, Alice leverages her media influence and nonprofit initiatives to advocate for inclusive social policies. Through her outreach programs, she supports girls with disabilities and their families, empowering them to live independently while promoting menstrual hygiene and education among young girls across Ghana.
