Chief Executive Officer of Women Powering Possibilities (WPP), Nancy Dery, has urged nurses and midwives in the Upper West Region not to underrate any patient who comes through their doors. Speaking at the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) Upper West branch during International Women’s Day commemorations, Madam Dery warned that appearances can be deceptive and called on the health workers to treat every client with dignity.
Members of the Upper West Chapter of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association gathered in Wa to mark International Women’s Day under the theme, “Give to Gain: The Role of Giving in Fostering Gender Equality, Leading to Collective Advancement, Where When Women Thrive, We All Rise.” Nurses and midwives from all 11 municipalities and districts attended, alongside representatives from various health facilities.
Upper West Regional Chairperson of the GRNMA, Lawrence Bangrwinin, welcomed participants and encouraged them to use the event to reflect on how they can promote gender equality within health services.

Lawra Municipal Chief Executive and keynote speaker,Cecilia Soyelleh Nuratu, urged women to engage in local governance and leadership roles to influence policies.

National Women and Gender Coordinator of the GRNMA, Anna Natery, encouraged nurses and midwives to invest in their professional development by identifying personal strengths and building on them.
The occasion was chaired by the regional Chairperson of health committee Madam Florence Ansowmine.
