Nana Akyena Kwagyan Nuama V has officially broken ground for the construction of an ultra-modern Senior High School (SHS) aimed at bridging the educational gap in the district.

The project is designed to provide high-quality education to students who often struggle to secure placements in the country’s top-tier institutions due to limited local infrastructure.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Nana Akyena Kwagyan Nuama V highlighted that the initiative is a direct response to the lack of secondary schools in the area.

”This project seeks to provide opportunities for students who miss out on attending SHS simply because there aren’t enough schools nearby,” he noted.

The chief emphasized that his vision aligns with the government’s broader efforts to enhance the national educational system. Demonstrating his commitment, Nana Nuama V donated GH¢500,000 and 10,000 concrete blocks to kickstart construction, pledging his unwavering support until the project’s completion.

Despite the significant local contribution, the chief appealed to the government and private stakeholders for further assistance. He acknowledged that while the community is dedicated, the scale of an “ultra-modern” facility requires collective investment to ensure long-term success.

Mr. Kwame Owusu Nuako, Chairman of the Steering Committee, confirmed that all architectural drawings and legal documentations are fully approved.

Hon. Richard Kofi Achina, the Assembly Member for the Essuowin Electoral Area, voiced his support, promising to work closely with traditional authorities for the betterment of the town.

The committee expressed profound gratitude to government officials, traditional leaders, and individual donors who have already contributed to making this vision a reality.
