Asante Kotoko are expected to depart Ghana for the United States of America on Wednesday, October 9 for the Capital City Africa Cup against DC United.
The game is expected to be staged in Washington on October 12, 2024, at the state-of-the-art Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
The Porcupine Warriors are representing the West African country in the game after beating their rivals, Hearts of Oak in the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup.
This annual ceremonial match is organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the GFA and is part of the festivities marking Ghana Week DC 2024, which runs from October 7-12, 2024.
This marks the second occasion a Ghana Premier League club will travel to the United States for a friendly match against an MLS side, following Medeama SC’s 2-1 defeat in a similar encounter on October 14, 2023.
Before their trip to the USA, the Porcupine Warriors will face Accra Lions in a Matchday five encounter at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, October 6.
