Ghana Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has revealed the emotional toll his team’s underwhelming performances have taken on him and his family.
In his second tenure as coach, Addo has struggled to turn the team’s fortunes around, managing just two wins in ten games and failing to qualify Ghana for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Ghana finished last in their qualifying group, which included Angola, Sudan, and Niger.
Speaking to the media after the team’s final group-stage defeat, Addo shared the deep personal impact of the Black Stars’ poor run.
> “This affects me too. I am very touched because when I get home sometimes, I see my family crying. So I know how Ghanaians are feeling,” he said.
The coach acknowledged the widespread disappointment among fans and pledged to work harder to improve the team’s performance. His remarks underscore the shared emotional burden borne by players, coaching staff, and supporters alike as the Black Stars face ongoing challenges.
