Seth Panwum, Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Board, has confirmed that the Baba Yara Stadium is set to host football matches once again. This announcement follows a period of stadium maintenance after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) withdrew its license, citing substandard field conditions.

In an interview with Channel One TV, Panwum shared that the stadium’s pitch has now met the necessary standards. With these improvements, he confirmed that teams like Asante Kotoko will soon be able to play their home games at the iconic venue.

“Baba Yara is equally undergoing re-turfing… The grass is up to standard now,” Panwum stated, adding that they will continue reviewing maintenance efforts to ensure the pitch remains in optimal condition for upcoming fixtures.

The news is a significant boost for local clubs and fans, promising a return to action at one of Ghana’s most renowned sports venues.
