Lawyer Seth Agyapong-Mensah, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira Constituency of Central Ghana, has denied allegations that he is a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). The accusations were made by a group known as the Movement for Positive Action (MoFPA) of the Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency of the NDC, who called for Agyapong-Mensah’s disqualification from the parliamentary primaries. The group made a number of other allegations, including claims that he is an alien.

In response, Agyapong-Mensah challenged his critics to prove their claims, insisting that he has never been a member of the NPP. He called on the National and Regional vetting committees to treat the allegations with contempt. Agyapong-Mensah, who is a lawyer, stated that he would never impersonate anyone for political gain, as it would damage his reputation. He explained that he had defended two NPP boys from Junkwa Krobo in court, free of charge, as he saw them as part of his people, the Denkyira. He vowed to work hard to make Hemang Lower Denkyira a stronghold of the NDC, and invited everyone to come on board to help him win the seat from the NPP.
