Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency, vows to proceed with his defamation suit against some branch executives until they retract their libelous allegations.

The former Minority Chief Whip is seeking GH¢10 million in damages for the publication and circulation of false claims that he owns 15 stalls in the newly-built Asawase Market.

Despite efforts by national executives to resolve the internal conflict, Muntaka maintains that he cannot ignore such accusations ahead of the NDC’s contest with the NPP.

Meanwhile, some branch executives have endorsed Mubarak Masawudu, a rival candidate who has picked up parliamentary nomination forms to challenge the fifth-time MP.
