Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and captain Benjamin Asare has urged his teammates to capitalize on their morale-boosting win against Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians snapped a streak of back-to-back defeats, securing their first victory of the season with a 2-0 win at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Goals from Ransford Mensah and Hamza Issah in the second half relieved some pressure on coach Aboubakar Ouattara and his squad.
As they prepare for their upcoming match against Nations FC in Kumasi, Asare emphasized the importance of maintaining focus. “From today forward, our worst result must be a draw,” he said during the team’s celebrations. “We need to concentrate and keep working hard.”
Hearts of Oak ended the previous season without a trophy and narrowly avoided relegation after defeating Bechem United on the final day of the 2023/24 season.
