Anna Bossman, Ghana’s ambassador to France has called on the government to resource anti-graft bodies in order to effectively win the war against corruption in Ghana.
Speaking to Beatrice Adu on Asaase 99.5 Accra’s TownHall Talk show on Friday (24 March), the former boss of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) said the government and institutions must be firm in sanctioning persons implicated in corruption or corruption-related offenses.
“Because I am from the anti-corruption, human rights environment, I always want anti-corruption institutions to be very well resourced to have what it takes to promote the integrity the country needs or wants,” Bossman said.
“Fighting corruption starts from the very basis of society,” she added. “Right from childhood, because corruption is not just political; it is also a social condition.”
“Sometimes it is not for the lack of the will of the institutions or their leaders but it’s just because they may not have the required support that they would wish,” Bossman said.
