Minority Caucus member and National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has vehemently denied allegations that he did not vote against the ministerial nominee for the Trade and Industry Ministry, Hon. K.T. Hammond, as purported by a video currently circulating on social media.
Dr Forson has refuted the claims made by a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP in the video, describing them as baseless and damaging to his reputation. He demanded an immediate retraction and apology from the accuser, warning that failure to do so would further undermine the individual’s credibility.
In a Facebook post, Dr Forson stated that he takes the allegations seriously and will not allow the falsehoods to go unchallenged. He further emphasized that he is a person of unwavering integrity and urged everyone to disregard the allegations.
The accusations have caused concern among Dr Forson’s constituents and supporters, who have expressed their unwavering support for the MP. Some have described the allegations as politically motivated, aimed at tarnishing Dr Forson’s image ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Reactions to Dr Forson’s statement has also been mixed, with many supportive and encouraging him to continue the good work he’s doing while others outrightly demanded him to produce proof that he indeed voted along with the stand of the party to reject the nominees.
Dr Forson has not commented on the source or motivation behind the false allegations, but he remains resolute in his determination to clear his name and maintain his integrity.
