Antoine Semenyo, a forward for Bournemouth, shared his happiness after scoring the winning goal for Ghana during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Angola on Thursday night.
Semenyo was brought on as a substitute in the second half and managed to secure a 1-0 victory for his team by scoring from close range.
During a post-match interview, Semenyo expressed his desire to be effective for the team and help them whenever possible, without feeling any pressure.
He stated that he was pleased with his performance and that the team needs to keep going for the next few days.
Semenyo also expressed his joy at scoring his first goal for Ghana on home soil, mentioning that both he and the team needed it.
With Ghana currently leading Group E by three points, a win against Angola in the reverse fixture on March 27 will guarantee their qualification to next year’s Afcon in Ivory Coast.
Semenyo is confident that he can continue to be an effective player for the team and contribute to their success.
