The NDC parliamentary candidate for the Tano South constituency in the Ahafo Region, Hon. Charles Akwasi Asiedu has stated that the constituents have been taken for granted by the New Patriotic Party leadership in the constituency for a long time after realizing their strong allegiance and steadfastness toward the NPP.
The parliamentary candidate indicated that nothing of developmental projects supposed to be embarked on by the Member of Parliament and the NPP Government at large in the constituency are taking place attributing the reasons to the strong devotion and affection of the constituents towards one political party which is the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said the party knowing they will massively be voted for in the constituency whether there is development or no development has been reluctant in enhancing the growth of Tano South hence leaving the constituency in jeopardy.
Hon. Charles Akwasi Asiedu revealed the need for the Members of Parliament to contribute towards the development of their constituencies mentioning the number of funds given to them to necessitate development in their respective areas indicating that MPs are provided with MPs’ Share of District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), GETFund, Social Intervention Fund, and Health insurance fund which according to him must be used for developmental projects.
He stressed that the incumbent Tano South member of parliament, Hon
Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere upon receiving these monies has not necessitated any social and economic development project in the municipal with several constituents seeking his whereabouts as a result of social and economic tribulations.
He bemoaned how the NPP MPs only visit the constituency during primaries and general elections and later disappear after their victory.
Hon Charles Asiedu has called on all eligible voters to desist from their strong affiliation to political parties and consider the growth and elaboration of the district by giving him the mandate to serve in the upcoming election for positive change in Tano South.
