NDC’s Master Planner Declares Bid for Dormaa Central Communications Officer, Pledges Effective IT Utilization
Mr. Peter Mensah, popularly known as Master Planner and a member of the Dormaa Central NDC Communications Team, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Constituency Communications Officer ahead of the party’s upcoming executive elections.
Mr. Mensah said his decision follows years of propagating the NDC’s message in Dormaa Central and across the country, adding that he believes the time has come for him to take a more active leadership role in the constituency’s communications department.
He emphasized the need for the party to move beyond traditional radio discussions and make greater use of Information Technology and social media to strengthen its communication. According to him, his influence on social media, which he claims attracted the attention of President John Dramani Mahama and other NDC figures before the 2024 elections, gives him the experience needed to introduce an effective IT-driven communication strategy.
He also expressed concern about situations where party serial callers resort to radio to complain about challenges within their own party, saying this could indicate weaknesses in the communications structure. Mr. Mensah believes a governing party must have a vibrant communications department capable of supporting its communicators and serial callers with the necessary resources, including call credit.
While acknowledging the diligent service of the incumbent Communications Officer, he said he intends to add value to the department and improve its effectiveness if given the opportunity. He further described himself as one of the NDC’s IT-oriented members and pledged to leverage technology and social media to enhance information dissemination and strengthen communication within the party.
