Government says it is working to turn nearly US$12 billion in announced and pipeline investments into actual projects aimed at creating jobs and expanding production in Ghana.
The move forms part of government’s broader strategy to attract investment into key sectors of the economy, including manufacturing, agriculture, mining, energy, technology and infrastructure.
Authorities say the focus is shifting from simply attracting foreign capital to ensuring investments translate into increased production, stronger local businesses and employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
Officials have indicated that the investment pipeline presents opportunities for industrial growth and economic expansion, but stressed the need for investors to establish projects that create value within the Ghanaian economy.
Government says the initiative will support efforts to boost exports, strengthen local industries and create sustainable jobs.
