President John Dramani Mahama has cautioned Ghanaians against taking the country’s religious freedom and peaceful coexistence for granted.
The President made the remarks during an engagement at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region, where he emphasised the need for citizens to protect Ghana’s reputation as a peaceful and religiously tolerant nation.
President Mahama called on religious leaders and citizens to promote unity, respect and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.
He said Ghana’s long-standing peace is a valuable asset that must be protected through dialogue and tolerance.
The President’s comments come amid recent concerns over tensions surrounding religious expressions and calls for leaders to help maintain harmony among different religious groups.
He urged Ghanaians to continue demonstrating respect for each other’s beliefs to safeguard national peace.
