An Accra High Court has placed a 10-day interim injunction on former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, preventing her from proceeding with the funeral and burial arrangements of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

Lawyer for the Kristo Asafo Mission, Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, said the order was granted after the Mission filed an application concerning matters related to the late industrialist’s estate.

According to him, the injunction temporarily stops Adwoa Safo from organising the funeral until the court further reviews the case.

The development comes amid a family dispute over who has the legal mandate to oversee the funeral arrangements and ensure the implementation of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s final wishes.

The funeral, which was scheduled for July 30 and 31, 2026, has now been put on hold following the court’s decision.

However, in an interview on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, Sarah Adwoa Safo maintained that the funeral would proceed as planned and called on her brother, Kwadwo Safo Akofena, not to interfere with the arrangements.
