Government has announced a National General Cleaning Exercise as part of efforts to restore communities affected by recent flooding and improve environmental sanitation.

The exercise aims to clear choked drains, remove refuse, and reduce the risk of future flooding while protecting lives, property, and public health.

The government has directed all District Chief Executives, Assembly Members, Government Appointees, Security Agencies, staff of the District Assemblies, heads of institutions, business operators, and residents to actively participate and lead the exercise in their respective communities.

 

In the Gomoa East District, the clean-up exercise will be held along the Kakraba–Millennium–Nyanyano–Kojo Oku Road, with participants expected to assemble at Millennium Junction. Activities will begin at 6:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon failure to do so will attract sanctions.

 

Residents of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa , Gomoa East District ,Awutu Senya East Municipality and all other districts within the central region are urged to come out in their numbers to support the initiative.

 

Some DCE’s within the Central Region have been speaking with BKB, they say the success of the exercise depends on collective community participation and is a crucial step towards restoring flood-affected areas and preventing future disasters.
