Nigerian Community in Ghana Inaugurates 2026 National Executive Council

The Nigerian Community in Ghana has officially inaugurated its 2026 National Executive Council at a colourful ceremony attended by community leaders, traditional authorities, government officials, and members of the diplomatic community.

 

 

The inauguration marked the beginning of a new leadership expected to promote the welfare, unity, and development of Nigerians living in Ghana while strengthening the cordial relationship between Ghana and Nigeria.

 

 

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the Nigerian Community in Ghana, High Chief David Ujueku, urged the newly inaugurated executives to serve with integrity, unity, and dedication.

 

 

He emphasized the need for the leadership to work closely with members of the community and relevant authorities to promote peace, lawful conduct, and the welfare of Nigerians residing in Ghana.

 

 

Also addressing the gathering, the Second Vice President and Chairman of the Nigerian Community in Ghana explained that the association brings together Nigerians from different ethnic communities, including the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and Edo communities, among others.

 

 

He said the various communities work together under one national body to promote unity, protect the interests of members, and foster peaceful coexistence. According to him, this unique structure differs from the way community organizations are administered in Nigeria.

 

 

He further assured members that the newly inaugurated leadership is committed to maintaining peace, resolving disputes amicably, and promoting harmony among all Nigerians living in Ghana. He called on members to support the executive council in its efforts to build a united and peaceful Nigerian community.

 

 

A representative of the Nigerian High Commission, Accra also commended the Nigerian community for its unity and commitment to peaceful coexistence.

 

 

He stated that Nigerians are proud of their identity and equally proud to call Ghana their second home.

 

He noted that the Nigerian community appreciates the warm hospitality of the Ghanaian people and remains committed to respecting Ghana’s laws, living in peace, and strengthening the long-standing relationship between Ghana and Nigeria.
