The Ghana Police Service, through the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the IGP, has arrested seven individuals in connection with a robbery syndicate responsible for a series of attacks across Accra, Tema, Anyinam, Kumasi, and Takoradi, targeting victims for cash, gold, and mercury.

Investigations began after Mousa Bamba, an Ivorian investor, reported that he was lured to Dzorwulu under the pretense of purchasing six kilograms of gold worth US$450,000, only to be robbed at gunpoint by suspects posing as CID operatives and military personnel.

On May 23 and 24, 2026, intelligence-led operations by the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the IGP led to the arrest of additional suspects, including Justin Oduro (aka Don King or Mafia), Clement Gyasi, and Farouk Zakari.

All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while authorities continue efforts to apprehend other accomplices linked to the syndicate.
