NDC Communicator,, Hamza Suhuyini has shared that Ghana should use the case involving Asante Akyem North MP Kwame Ohene Frimpong to improve political vetting and leadership standards.
The MP was arrested in Amsterdam over allegations linked to romance scams and money laundering investigations.
“Ghana must be interested in the outcome of this matter,” Suhuyini said on JoyNews.
According to him, the country should use situations like this to strengthen democratic systems and candidate selection processes.
“We can use this matter to inform policy and protect the democratic space.”
He stressed that allegations alone do not amount to guilt, but institutions must still conduct proper checks before approving people for public office.
“The person is not guilty until proven guilty, but institutions must do proper assessments.”
