The Ghana Police Service has denied claims of paper leakage and bribery in a recent Police Promotion Examination, calling the allegations “false, baseless, and without merit.”
In a press release issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026, and signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director-General of Public Affairs, the Service responded to a publication by The Herald newspaper that had made the claims.
“The Service wishes to categorically state that these allegations are baseless and without merit,” the statement read.
The Police Service emphasized that the promotion examination was conducted by the University of Cape Coast, an institution known for its high reputation, integrity, and proven track record in administering examinations.
The statement did not provide further details regarding the claims made by The Herald or indicate whether any legal action would be taken against the publication.
