Nana Anane Addae, a retired Police Sergeant who also serves as the Abusupanin for the Tewo Baabi Dwantoa Family in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region, has made a public appeal to the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II. He seeks intervention regarding what he perceives as marginalization of the Abusuapanin Stool, a position rightfully his, by the Chief of Tewobaabi.
According to Nana Addae, the Tewobaabi Chief Nana Ofori Yeboah has decided to dethrone him as his family head, hence he summoned him to the Sunyani High Court which the case was later removed to be settled locally, a verdict has yet to be delivered, even after nearly six years of the cases being handled by the Berekum traditional council.
Nana Anane Addae formally requests Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II and the Bono Regional House of Chiefs to intervene and facilitate an amicable resolution to the matter without any external interference.
Nana Anane Addae, the Abusupanin of Tewo Baabi, expressed his involvement in facilitating the enstoolment of Nana Ofori Yeboah as Chief of Tewobaabi, along with his queen mother. He emphasized that, following his enstoolment, the Chief does not frequently reside in Ghana, as he spends considerable time abroad. This situation has posed challenges for him in managing certain traditional practices independently.
Furthermore, the Chief of Tewobaabi later declared that the title of Abusuapanin had been revoked from him. This matter was subsequently referred to the Paramount Chief of Berekum for resolution. However, after more than six years, no positive outcome has been achieved, which he finds both troubling and unjust.
