Traders at the Kasoa Old Market are protesting the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly’s decision to demolish some temporary structures for the construction of stores.

According to leadership of the Kasoa Petty Traders Association with a membership of close to 1,000 traders, the assembly’s decision when allowed will grievously impact several hundreds of traders who are unlikely to afford rent for the new stores.

Speaking to the media at a press conference, secretary of the association, Appiah Roger, described the assembly’s move as conflicting to the government’s implementation of the 24Hour Economy Policy.

The traders are demanding for the decision to be aborted immediately for extensive dialogue.

Meanwhile some of the traders said, they will fight until they lost their last blood

some of them called on President John Dramani Mahama to come to their aid.
