We are committed to amplifying Osagyefo’s educational transformation vision. – Jagri Bekala Mining Company

Jagri Bekala Mining Company, located in Dormaa Ahenkro within the Bono Region, has generously donated resources to assist Junior High School graduates who are preparing to embark on their secondary education in the coming weeks.

The donation comprises over 1,163 mattresses and trunks, as well as more than 5,672 exercise and notebooks, benefiting over 1,163 graduates.

During the presentation, Mr. Collins Atta Poku, the General Manager for Sustainability and Corporate Affairs at Jagri Bekala Mining Company, who also serves as the CEO of the Aduana Stars Football Club, represented the Mining Company. He remarked that this initiative is part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on families and government officials, ensuring that the entire Dormaa community benefits from the company’s presence.

He further emphasized that this gesture aligns with the educational transformation vision of the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II. This vision seeks to enhance and develop human resource capital for a brighter future for Dormaa and the Bono Region as a whole. He stated that Jagri Bekala Mining Company will provide scholarships for 15 students among the beneficiaries who achieve distinction in their WASSCE examinations. These scholarships will enable them to pursue studies in Medicine, Law, Engineering, and Business at any tertiary institution.

He stressed that the donation would allow parents to allocate funds initially intended for trunks and mattresses towards other necessary provisions, thereby ensuring that students are equipped with essential items for their educational journey.

The Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, Honorable John Kwame Adu Jack, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer of Jagri Bekala Mining Company, as well as the paramount Chief and Queen Mother of the Dormaa Traditional Council, for their significant contributions to the educational advancement within the constituency. He emphasized that their visionary efforts have culminated in this remarkable achievement.

Furthermore, he remarked that the donation will significantly alleviate the burden of acquiring the same equipment by himself, the Municipal Chief Executive, and other government officials stressing that this will enable him to allocate funds, which would have otherwise been spent on purchasing such equipment, towards other equally important developmental projects for the constituents of Dormaa to benefit.

Mr. Kumi Agyemang, the Public Relations Officer for the Dormaa Central Education Directorate, addressed the audience on behalf of the Municipal Education Director, Rev. Father Kingsley Dwamena Asante. He advised the beneficiary students to dedicate themselves to diligent study as they embark on their secondary school education. He also cautioned them against engaging in immoral behaviors and encouraged them to focus on their academic advancement to secure a promising future.

Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the CEO of Jagri Bekala Mining Company for their generous support and emphasized the need for continued contributions of this nature to advance educational progress within the Dormaa Central constituency.
