Franklin Cudjoe, the President of Policy Think Tank IMANI Africa, has advised Ghanaians to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the polls if their Members of Parliament (MPs) participate in a parliamentary recall.

In a statement shared on social media, Franklin criticized the possibility of Parliament handling 17 bills in just two days. He argued that such actions undermine proper legislative processes and reflect poorly on the Minority if they decide to partake.

“Any Parliament worth its name should under no circumstances be considering so many bills and costly plans in just two days! If the Minority group in Parliament takes part in this, it would clearly show Ghanaians they would be worse in government. I urge voters to take notice and punish them,” he stated.

The recall follows unresolved issues about vacant seats in Parliament, which had led to an indefinite adjournment by the Speaker.

In response, the NDC’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has warned Minority MPs to avoid attending Parliament if recalled. Speaking on TV3, he emphasized that MPs should focus on campaigning in their constituencies to secure victory in the 2024 elections.

This development highlights growing political tensions as Ghanaians prepare for the critical general elections next year.
