Baba Rahman played a crucial role in PAOK’s 2-2 draw against Malmo in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian defender’s goal ensured that PAOK left Sweden with a valuable draw, setting them up confidently for the return leg in Greece.

Malmo took the lead twice through Pontus Jansson and Sebastian Nanasi, but PAOK fought back each time.

Rahman’s equaliser in the 75th minute secured the stalemate, keeping the tie wide open.

Rahman’s performance was particularly impressive. Building on an excellent pre-season where he scored a couple of goals, he has carried his form into competitive matches.

This goal is his first of the season, and it suggests he might surpass last season’s tally of six goals in all competitions, as PAOK clinched the Greek title.

The former Chelsea defender has found stability in Greece and is back to his best.

With two years remaining on his current deal, PAOK might offer him a new contract, or he could attract attention from clubs in more competitive leagues.
