A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Afia Akoto has waded in the ongoing brouhaha over the sale of 60% shares in six of SSNIT’s hotels across the country.

According to her, what the argument should be is about bringing life to what she describes as “dead establishments”.

To her, these hotels that are being sold are nothing to write home about so instead of frustrating a Ghanaian businessman, it will make sense to rather to support him make the facilities better.

She called on Ghanaians to support Bryan Acheampong because taking over majority shares in the failed state hotels will be of benefit to the country, its workers and all other beneficiaries.

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called for an investigation into the sale of 60% shares in six hotels belonging to SSNIT.

According to him, the hotels are being sold to a Minister of State and that is not acceptable because he smells conflict of interest in offering such strategic investments to a Minister.

Bryan Acheampong has insisted that there is ni conflict of interest as he has no hand in the day to day running of the hotel.

Thank God, Dr. Bryan Acheampong is a well established businessman in the hoteliers industry. The man has been well established in this area not today, but way before this NPP government ,and succeeded over the years . For me as a Ghanaian, what matters most and is of importance to me is someone who can bring life into these dead establishments.

The workers of these hotels have nothing to write home about but each day they go to work. Their properties constantly are been auctioned and seized by their creditors. Some staff salaries are mostly unpaid and their buildings are in deplorable states. Was there any company whose bid was higher than Rockcity? Let them bring their documents so we take it up from there. If there isn’t any, then let us do what is best for the business.

Yes! The we can do spirit of the Kwahu man is all that I see in my brother. I don’t need you to like this post if you disagree. But remember that at the end, it is a Ghanaian business, and it will employ more Ghanaians than any other nationals. Let us celebrate our own. If the others could buy shares and properties from ssnit and it was okay please tell me what the issue is today . Rock city is capable. Let us support him. For once a Ghanaian own businessman took over the majority shares in a Ghanaian property and not foreigners as its been in the past. Congratulations my brother, proud of you Dr. Bryan Acheampong
