Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has called up two players from the Ghana Premier League in his squad for the upcoming doubleheader against Sudan.

Ghana’s Black Stars are set to engage their counterparts from Sudan this month in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Today, Coach Otto Addo met the press at the Ghana FA secretariat and announced his 25-man squad for the two games.

Two Ghana Premier League players, Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex’s left-back Isaac Afful made it into the list.

The Kotoko shot-stopper was part of the Black Stars squad that played against Angola and Niger during Ghana’s last assignment in September.

For Isaac Afful, this is his maiden call-up to the senior national team.

He has earned his place in the squad following exceptional performances for FC Samartex in the CAF Champions League preliminary stage and the Ghana Premier League.

Ghana will play Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, before travelling to Libya for the reverse fixture at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina, on Tuesday, October 15.
