Have you ever listened to the story of someone’s struggle? Were you inspired and encouraged to carry your own cross with more determination towards success? Or have you ever wished you had someone who has gone through a similar difficult situation to talk to?
It is not everything that should be private. Sharing a part of your story with the world can be intimidating and uncomfortable but it helps heal the world and the many desperate young souls out there. Don’t just show the glory of your life; reveal the story behind the glory. Let the young ones see the struggle as well. This will give hope and courage to them and assure them that others have also walked through the rough path of life and come out better.
One thing I have loved so deeply about the American Bible teacher, Joyce Meyer, is the openness of her life and how easily she shares her past and current challenges with her hearers. It is no wonder her conferences and books have transformed several lives. Oprah Winfrey is also another example of a person whose ability to share the story of her life has inspired many out there. Recently, Prince Harry of England came out with a book that unveils the struggle of his life.
We are in a social media world, but unfortunately, social media is notorious for curated and polished images of people’s lives. Not much is authentic out there, and that is why many young people are chasing after fantasy and a fake lifestyle. You, therefore, have to be a part of the few authentic ones who are revealing the facts that life is a journey, not an event; life is a marathon, not a sprint; life is an adventure, not a fairytale; heroes are born but only through labour; failure is not fatal while success is not final, and no condition is permanent.
Yes, work in silence, and let your success make the noise. But why not show the process sometimes so others will go along with you? Why not write your autobiography even as you tread this life journey? Don’t wait until later before you share a part of You with the world. Think about the many feeble hands that need your holding and the many shivering legs that need your carrying? Silence is not always golden. It can be mean when it deprives others of their fair share of knowing what life really is through the lenses of your struggle.
You are a hero on the narration stage; the world is your audience. Speak to us, Champion.
