The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has revealed that after the swoop into criminal hideouts in Ashaiman, they seized 29 slabs and 57 mini slabs of suspected Indian hemp.
Also, 184 suspects were picked up and have been handed over to the Military Police who will later hand them over to the Ghana Police Service for screening and further action.
The Ghana Armed Forces in their statement debunked claims that they had gone in to avenge the death of their colleague but rather, the intelligence-based operation was meant to fish out perpetrators of the heinous crime.
The Ghana Armed Forces apologized to innocent civilians who were brutalized in the process due to where they found themselves at that particular time.
It could be remembered that on the dawn of March 7, 2023, personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces stormed Ashaiman and its environs.
The mission of the Forces was to fish out persons involved in the killing of a Military Officer whose name is given as Trooper Imoro Sherrif.
Trooper Imoro Sherrif was stabbed multiple times to death after he had sought permission to visit his parents in Ashaiman.
