The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has called for the immediate suspension of ongoing teacher recruitment processes, warning of a possible nationwide protest if their concerns are not addressed.

According to the association, the current recruitment exercise has raised serious issues affecting newly trained teachers, particularly regarding transparency and fairness.

TTAG argues that the process must be reviewed to ensure that qualified teacher trainees are not sidelined.

The group has therefore urged the government and relevant authorities to halt the recruitment exercise and engage stakeholders in resolving the concerns raised. They stressed that failure to do so could lead to mass demonstrations across the country.

TTAG further indicated that its members are prepared to take to the streets to demand what they describe as justice and equal opportunity for all trained teachers.

The association is calling for urgent dialogue to prevent escalation of the situation.
