Ghana’s deputy captain and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, has attributed his excellent performance on the field to his parents’ influence as coaches. In a recent interview with Supersports, Partey credited his parents’ continuous feedback, both positive and negative, for aiding his development as a player.
According to Partey, his parents play a significant role in his career, with both of them acting as his coaches. He revealed that his mother, in particular, provides valuable advice during games, such as encouraging him to attempt shooting rather than passing the ball in certain situations.
Partey acknowledged that he sometimes chooses to pass the ball instead of shooting to create more space on the field. However, he takes his parents’ criticism and advice seriously, enabling him to become a more well-rounded player.
This season, Partey has been influential in Arsenal’s quest for the title, scoring three goals in 22 Premier League games.
