The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that Kwesi Appiah, a member of the Executive Council (EXCO), has stepped down from his position temporarily following an order from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The decision comes in response to concerns raised about a potential conflict of interest due to Appiah’s dual role as both an EXCO member and the head coach of the Black Stars.

The GFA has confirmed that Appiah will be stepping aside from his EXCO duties temporarily.

This development comes as the Black Stars prepare for their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan. The team is aiming to secure maximum points in both matches to improve their chances of qualifying for the tournament.
