SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS IN UPPER EAST REGION, AS POLICE ARREST SUSPECT OF MURDER

A somber mood has settled over the Upper East Region after a brutal murder in Sabungari, in the Bawku municipality, on 17th December 2025, left a woman and her two children dead. The victims, Abdullahi Alima and her two children, were shot and killed a day after a mediation process led by Otumfour Asantehene Oseitutu at the Presidency.
A disturbing video circulating on social media shows the suspect, Abdul Karim Osman, bragging about carrying out the heinous act. The video appears to show Osman describing how he executed the mission, sending shockwaves across the region.
According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrators shot through a window, killing Alima and her children as they lay in their home , during curfew hours in the Bawku municipality. The Bolgatanga police have arrested the suspect Osman, who was hiding in the region.
The suspect is currently with the Zuarungu police custody in the Bolgatanga east of the Upper East Region.
The incident has left many in the community feeling vulnerable and seeking justice for the victims. The people of the Upper East Region are calling on the authorities to ensure that the perpetrators face the full force of the law, and are waiting to see the statement on the matter.
