Abdul Hamid, an aggrieved member of the Ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), in Kumasi, the stronghold of the governing New Patriotic Party in a statement going viral on the Internet is calling for the removal of the National and the Ashanti Regional Nasara coordinator of the party due to concerns about Alhaji Said Sinare’s growing influence in the Zongo communities across the stronghold of the party hence the country at large.
Mr. Hamid is specifically worried that H.E Alhaji Sinare, a former National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is gaining too much support for John Mahama’s presidential bid in these Zongo communities, potentially threatening the NPP’s electoral prospects at the crucial 2024 polls.
According to him, Nasara coordinators play a crucial role in engaging with Zongo communities, and their absence or inaction may be perceived as an opportunity for opposing parties to gain ground. Hamid’s appeal to the National Chairman highlights the urgency of addressing this situation to prevent a repetition of past electoral setbacks.
We have allowed Alhaji Said Sinare to take advantage of our lazy Nasara coordinators and he is breaking into the Zongos as if they ( NDC’s) are in power, he said.
This Sinare man is employing his 2008 tactics that gave the NDC a resounding victory in the Zongos and we must not allow this to happen again as a party, he stated.
We have allowed Alhaji Sinare to break up the Zongos whilst our presidential candidate is from the Zongo community, he lamented.
He also alleged that the Rawlings look-alike politician and the founder of the Zongos for NDC group has paid a huge sum of money to some renowned journalists in the Ashanti Region, hence a slow visibility for the party in the region.
He has described Alhaji Said Sinare as a dangerous politician who is desperate to give John Dramani Mahama and the NDC 95% votes in the Zongos communities across the country.

Dear National Chairman of the NPP,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to bring to your attention a matter that I believe requires urgent consideration. As a resident of Kumasi Zongo in the Ashanti region, I have observed Alhaji Said Sinare, a former National Vice Chairman of the NDC, actively engaging with the Zongo Communities across our country during his recent visit, particularly in ways that may impact the electoral success of our party.
It is concerning to note that Alhaji Said Sinare has been working to mobilize support for John Mahama’s presidential bid within the Zongo communities yet our National Nasara Coordinator is nowhere to be found.
Additionally, there have been reports of financial incentives being provided to influential journalists aligned with our party to speak against our Flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia.
Given Alhaji Said Sinare’s past influence in the Zongo communities, especially in the 2008 elections, it is crucial that we address this situation to safeguard the interests of our party. I believe prompt action is necessary to counteract his influence and protect our electoral prospects.
Furthermore, I would like to request that we consider providing additional support and guidance to our National and Regional Nasara coordinators to help them fulfill their roles effectively, or potentially explore the option of new appointments in these positions.
I have been closely monitoring the situation with Alhaji Said Sinare, and I strongly believe that proactive measures are essential to avoid a repetition of the events from 2008.
I trust that you will give this matter the attention it deserves.
Yours sincerely,
Abdul Hamid
