Reverend Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, the founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries and leader of the Kum People’s Party (KPP), has explained why he decided to pull out of the 2024 Presidential race.

In an interview on Kingdom FM, which was monitored by LOCOtvgh.com, Prophet Kumchacha stated that he chose not to run for the presidency because he does not trust the Electoral Commission (EC). According to him, after conducting his own research, he learned from a source that the EC had plans to disqualify him, regardless of his application. This led him to forgo filing for the elections.

“I don’t trust the Electoral Commission. The information I gathered from my source indicated that if I had applied, I would be disqualified because they claim I’m too loud in this country. So, I decided not to waste my GHc100,000 on filing for presidential candidacy,” he shared.

Earlier in April, Prophet Kumchacha hinted that he would prefer to select Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) and widely known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, as his running mate over Akua Donkor, the leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).

His comments came in response to a question on who he would choose between the two as a running mate, considering their similar communication styles. He explained, “Akua Donkor has no vision, and I can’t work with her. If I were to choose someone, it would be Osofo Kyiri Abosom. He’s my friend and brother.”
