Prevention of flooding: we are putting up efforts to avoid the encroachment of our wetlands – Dormaa Central MCE

The Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly has taken swift measures together with Nananom to prevent the encroachment of the Wetlands within the catchment areas of Dormaa Ahenkro to reduce the chances of flooding shortly.

According to the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Drissa Ouattara, the Assembly has realized that some people have started the building of houses on the wetlands and flood-prone areas within Dormaa Ahenkro with all the valid documentation of the land in their possession therefore the Assembly has swiftly engaged Nananom to help prevent the encroachment which poses danger to lives and properties through flooding in the subsequent years.

The MCE noted that he is working tirelessly to ensure all persons who have started to fill these waterlogged areas with gravel and other means are stopped immediately and will also ensure they are not given permits since the assembly is solely in charge of the issuance of permits before the commencement of New projects.

Reacting to the forthcoming general elections, Hon. Drissa Ouattara charged Ghanaians to massively vote for Dr Mahamud Bawumia and the NPP to ensure the continuation of the good governance and policies of Nana Akufo Addo stressing that NPP under Akufo Addo – Bawumia administration has seen a lot of developmental policies that gave birth to the Free SHS which guarantees every Ghanaian to have access to secondary education, reinforcement for the Ghana card policy, Roads construction and several others.
