Police Officer Accused of Abuse and Extortion in Savannah Region
A disturbing report has emerged from the Tuna Police Station in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region. The officer in question, identified as Corporal Baba Amando, is alleged to have a history of abuse and extortion.
According to sources, Corporal Amando has been reported to the Police Intelligence Professional Standards Bureau (PIPSB) for his actions. Despite these reports, filed as far back as two years ago, his alleged misconduct continues unabated.
The Ghana Police Service has since issued a statement acknowledging the allegations and assuring the public of their commitment to upholding justice and integrity. The statement revealed that the matter is currently under investigation, and the appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken if the officer is found culpable.
The statement further urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with ongoing investigations. The Police Service reiterated its stance on accountability and encouraged anyone with additional evidence or information to come forward.
